The counters started when the newly-appointed Superintendent Jail Tariq Babar Warraich allegedly utilised uncomplimentary module during inspection. However, the caretaker said that the prisoners were answerable for the escape of fivesome inmates from the slammer during the last some days. He said he would not tolerate much activities. The prisoners told the caretaker that the slammer body was answerable for the incident. However, the caretaker continuing to blame the prisoners and threatened them with dreaded consequences. It infuriated the prisoners who climbed up the roofs of the prison and started successiveness the personnel with bricks. They chanted slogans against the superintendent. The status worsened when the caretaker titled more personnel obligate and tear-gassed the inmates. As a result, about 50 prisoners were injured. After the incident, Punjab Minister for Prisons Abdul Ghafoor and DIG Prisons Mubashir Malik reached the slammer and held talks with the prisoners. They assured the prisoners that their veritable grievances would be redressed. The prisoners demanded an investigating into the incident by an LHC judge. Later, on assurances, the prisoners returned to their barracks. When contacted, SSP Operations Sarfraz Falki said that three wardens and 15 prisoners were scraped in the clash. The slammer officials said that the conflict started during an investigating into the recovery of fivesome mobile phones from the prisoners. However, the media was not allowed to start the jail.
